The Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, has hailed President Bola Tinubu for protecting democracy in the country.
Speaking with newsmen in Kano on Wednesday, Dungurawa said, “There is every reason to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for protecting democracy in the country and showing quality leadership.
“Nigerians now have a very transparent government and are happy with the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“He allows things to work accordingly without exerting personal whims and caprices. It is this quality that we did not see in our past leaders.
“Our past leaders lacked democratic maturity, commitment and consideration for the interest of the people and they ruled people anyhow.
“Look at how president Tinubu sanctioned a whole minister suspected of syphoning public funds, look at how he suspended an Executive Secretary of a government agency. These are things we want to be seeing in this country.”
He also noted that Governor Abba Yusuf has the same remarkable leadership qualities as President Tinubu, as he sanctioned some public officers for committing certain improprieties.
“Likewise here in Kano, when a Managing Director forged government documents to do away with property worth billions of Naira in the state, Governor Abba Yusuf didn’t hesitate to suspend him.
“He did the same to the Managing Director of our Radio station, who didn’t follow due process in auctioning government property. He also suspended an aide when he was found wanting in the distribution of palliatives in the state,” the chairman said.
He also said that Nigerians would not regret voting for President Tinubu as he has the same political pedigree with the Leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
He said that both Kwankwaso and President Tinubu started Politics almost the same time and they were both at the National Constitutional Conference and also the National Assembly.
He said both were also Governors in their respective states of Lagos and Kano, and that they shared the same political ideology as progressive leaders.
